The band 3.4 – 4.2 GHz has been densely, efficiently and effectively used by satellite operators since the late 1960s to provide state-of-the-art communications. These frequencies are used on a global basis to provide safety-of-life services, lifeline connectivity, and broadband and broadcast connections. They are the only satellite bands which can be relied upon for affordable, always-on service in all regions and all climates. To take the international community one step closer to bridging the digital divide, help the ITU preserve the use of 3.4 – 4.2 GHz for use by satellite services.
